Completed Projects

Schools supported by LiveWildLife

Primary School Monic, lies in a very rural area of Tanzania, near Lake Natron. The school did not have the money to finish one of its seven classrooms, so in 2008, LiveWildlife assisted by choosing a builder, buying the materials, and overseeing the construction process. The project cost USD 6,800 and was financed by Schaufelberger-Biggel Stiftung, Switzerland.

Vilima Vitatu (Three Hills) Primary School is located at the base of one of three hills bordering the Tarangire National Park, and belongs to the Mdori village. At this school LiveWildlife rebuilt one building with two classrooms in 2009. The costs for this project were USD 12,500. The school’s other three buildings now need to be renovated. There are fissures in the floor and in the walls and bats nestle in the roof trusses. The school does not have access to water, as the two existing water tanks are broken. The gutters have to be replaced and the water tanks must be repaired or substituted. A new teacher’s office needs be erected and the school is in need of study materials. Once we complete these necessary steps, LiveWildlife would like to work with the school to plant a garden, install a soccer field, and paint a picture with the students about wildlife on one of the repaired buildings’ walls.

Currently LiveWildlife is also assisting Mdori Village Primary School to finish the construction of one school building with two classrooms and one teacher’s office at a cost of USD 25,500. This school currently accommodates 350 children, in Grades 1 – 4, in just one building. This primary school also has a large shortage of books. In 2010 we restored a class room in the secondary school for 9’500USD and in 2013 we added another 2 class rooms with a teacher’s office for 30’000USD. On a regular base we buy note books and pens for the school with its 350 children. The school does not have access to water, as the two existing water tanks are broken. The gutters have to be replaced and the water tanks must be repaired or substituted.
